"SHE TELLS" : HER BACKGROUND The place of birthing was the second floor of the Toronto Women's Bookstore. Once a week and for four consecutive weeks in March, 2002, ten women of colour gathered together for the purpose of exploring creative writing, under the instruction of Nila Gupta (playwright, author). As the course drew to an end and with the encouragement of Nila, several members of this group decided to continue to meet on a bi-weekly basis. Thus "SHE TELLS" was born. HER
